GCSE ART SUPPORT GROUP
The programme will initially run weekly from 19th November to 10th December. Subject to demand, it will continue in the new year with an emphasis on exam preparation.
What is the purpose of the sessions?
This group is designed to support, advise and guide students working through GCSE Art.
What will we cover?
Support with preparatory studies
Tips for presentation
Guidance with coursework
Help developing ideas
Organisation, layout and content of sketchbooks
Explore a range of different materials and techniques
Changing material or style each week
What level is the course and do I need any particular skills?
This group is primarily aimed at Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE Art students.
How will I be taught and will there be any work outside the session?
The sessions will be held downstairs in The Stockroom Society, Leatherhead (Wednesday evenings). These sessions should be seen as a source of support, advice and guidance working alongside school and self-led work. Covering exam boards AQA and Edexcel.
Who is running the sessions?
Both Louisa Florence Edwards and Teresa Williams will be running the sessions. Louisa Florence Edwards is a local artist and arts and crafts facilitator who runs workshops with The Stockroom and with local charities within the community. Teresa Williams is an experienced art teacher.
Are there any costs? Is there anything I should bring?
Sessions will cost £7.00. Basic materials will be provided. Please bring sketchbooks and anything you may feel you need or want to use.
